深深感恩老師在今日為我們圓滿四年來講授《地藏菩薩本願經》講座,老師在開場時的一席話:「我們所處的這個世界,曾飽受戰火流離,父祖輩時代可能連完整的經書都難以覓得,更遑論能像我們現在有時間心力安穩聽經了,而且從歷史的洪流來看,我們正處於難得的和平歲月,希望我們珍惜難得聞法的因緣,以珍重心來聞法學習。」我們深深感恩諸佛菩薩的護佑及老師慈悲教導,特別感恩老師因為考量我們現代人忙碌的平日生活,特意在這四年來將講座時間安排為每兩個月一講,以這樣的慢速,讓我們得以在此生能有機會,完整聽聞這一部殊勝的佛經─ 

《地藏菩薩本願經》。

本次講座來到〈地神護法品第十一〉及〈見聞利益品第十二〉。

因為此兩品多講事,老師便特別闡述了事中之理,令我們從理上明白,才能運用在生活中千變萬化的事相上。例如所謂的護法,看似在護衛我們,其實他護的是「法」,我們如法、依照佛所教授的方法去做、去生活,護法自然也就會護衛我們在生活、學法、修行的路上,多遇善緣。

In this lecture, our Teacher Susan Duan, continued to teach the “Chapter 11: The Dharma Protection of the Earth Spirit” and the “Chapter 12: The Benefits from Seeing and Hearing”. Because what the two chapters illustrated the Dharma more by things, the Teacher elaborated on the rationale behind the things so that we could understand the Dharma rationally and apply it to the ever-changing things in life. For example, the so-called Guardians of the Buddhist Dharma seem to guard us; in fact, what they guard is the "Dharma", if we practice and live with the Dharma taught by the Buddha, the Guardian of the Dharma will naturally guard us to come across many good conditions in the path of life, learning the Dharma, and cultivating the minds.

本次講座,老師特別數天前發LINE通知我們說,這次要學習十分重要的「校量布施功德緣品第十」。所以這天我們都帶著歡喜心、欣樂心前來。

 

Before this lecture, the Teacher especially sent us a LINE message a few days ago to inform us that we will learn the very important "Chapter 10: Comparing the Conditions and Virtues of Giving" in the coming lecture. So we all came with delightful and joyful heart on this day.

本次續講<閻羅王眾讚歎品第八>後半。段貞夙老師依著經文,說道「初發心時成正覺,如是二心初心難。」讓我們了解「發一個真正想求明白的心」是如此不易,但這個初心,保證了未來必定成佛的箇中緣由。

 

In this lecture, the Teacher Susan Duan, continued to teach the second half of “Chapter 8: The Praise of King Yama and His Retinue”. In accordance with the scriptures, the Teacher illustrated “At the very beginning of making vows to attain enlightenment and mindfulness, it has been predestined for one to become Buddha. However, to make such vows is more difficult.” to make us understand that it is not easy to “initially make a vow to really seek for self-awareness”, but such initiative is a guarantee of the reason of becoming a Buddha in the future.

本次講座一開始,老師說,佛教導我們:如果我們在輪迴中一次次死亡的屍體堆起來,比須彌山還高。這代表死亡是我們不論貧富貴賤都會遇到的,於是要學習明白,應該以什麼心態來面對這個表面是肉體死亡,實則是生命轉化,就像換工作,總想愈換愈好、換房子愈換愈好,帶著這樣的心態來學習,才是正向樂觀且真正對生者亡者有幫助的。

這一講,段貞夙老師講述《地藏菩薩本願經》第七品<利益存亡品>,特別強調修行就是在修習慣,因為習慣的行為模式背後,一定有相對應習慣的知見思惟。倘若不去發現自己的知見思惟為何,進而修正,光靠一時壓抑或強扭外顯的行為,終究事倍功半。

 

This lecture, our Teacher Susan Duan gave the speech on “Chapter 7: Benefiting the Living and the Deceased” of “Sutra of the Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva” and particularly emphasized that the practice is to correct our bad habits because there must be related views and thinking behind the habitual behavioral patterns. If we don't find out our own wrong views and thinking, and then correct them, it will eventually spend more efforts but get less results by relying on a temporary repression or forced change of external behavior.

本次講座主講《地藏菩薩本願經》〈如來讚歎品第六〉,該品以普廣菩薩與釋迦牟尼佛的問答,彰顯地藏菩薩度生的慈悲方便,也等於同時對各類需求的眾生(例如不想再投生為女人、希望生得相貌端正的女人、久病難癒的人、夜夢神鬼而心生恐怖的人、生為奴婢或身處不自由狀態的痛苦之人、家中有新生兒的人)給予從困境中解脫或得到安樂的方便之法。

 

This lecture, the Teacher gave the speech on chapter 6 “The Praise of the Tathagata” of the “Sutra of the Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva” which not only demonstrates the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s compassion and convenience to enlighten the sentient beings with the dialogue between the Bodhisattva named Universally Vast and the Shakyamuni Buddha, but also gives a convenient way for the sentient beings of all kinds of needs (for example, women who don’t want to be born again as a woman, women who want to be a good-looking woman, people who have long-term illness, people who are in horror because of dreaming ghosts and spirits, people who are born as slaves or painful people in a state of non-freedom, and people who have newborns at home) to get rid of difficulties or getting peace and happiness.

The Association of Pure Buddhist held the Dharma Lecture Eleven of “Sutra of the Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva” on March 24, 2018. Thank Teacher Duan for continuing to give a speech on Chapter 4, “Karmic Retributions of Beings in Jambudvipa”, for us.

民國1061112日的佛學講座,段老師講述地藏菩薩本願經第三品。隨著經文,老師帶領我們看到摩耶夫人請問地藏菩薩,地藏菩薩講述了我們閻浮眾生在六道裡輪轉不停,究竟是做了甚麼事,種了甚麼因,然後因為這個因,在甚麼緣之下,結出了甚麼果,首先直指最嚴重的五無間罪報及它的果報。為了避免我們初學者心生疑惑或毀謗,老師特別以生活中淺顯的例子來比喻說明,使我們從理性上了解為何不孝乃至殺害父母、毀壞佛法僧三寶,會招致難以想像的可怕果報,所謂的地獄罪報其實都是眾生自己的身口意召感來的。透過這樣的理解,使我們明白真正的愛惜保護自己,就是要看好自己的心,因為這世間的一切都脫離不了自然的因果法則,即使我們還沒法立刻脫離輪迴,但至少不要讓自己墮入三惡道。

 

The Dharma Lecture on November 12, 2017, Teacher Duan gave a speech on Chapter Three of “Sutra of the Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva”. The Teacher led us to read paragraphs of Sutra about Queen Maya asked the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, and the Bodhisattva instructed us the reason we living beings of Jambudvipa continuously take rebirth in the six realms of samsara without a halt--- what exactly we did to lead to it, and how the different things we do under what kind of circumstances cause different karma. First of all, the Bodhisattva directly pointed to the most severe five incessant karmic retribution. To prevent us(beginners) from confusion and slander, the Teacher especially illustrated with simple examples of our life to make us understand rationally why being unfilial toward parents, even killing them, and doing damage to the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha will bring about unimaginably horrible karmic consequences. Actually, the so-called karmic retribution of Hell is called by beings’ own behaviors, speech and mind. Through such comprehension, we knew how to truly love and protect ourselves---take good care of our mind because everything in this world can’t be separated from the nature rule of “cause and effect”. Although we can’t immediately leave the samsara, at least we can protect ourselves from falling in three evil realms.

On July 8, 2017, Association of Pure Buddhist (APB) held Dharma Lecture of “Sutra of the Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva” and invited our teacher Susan Duan to give a speech. The Lecture Eight entered upon "Chapter Two: The Assembly of the Emanations".

106521日,中華清淨學佛協會舉行《地藏菩薩本願經》佛學講座第七講,恭請 授法老師 段貞夙居士 為大眾開講。講座當天適逢一年一度的國中會考,許多大德由於身為陪考家長不克前來,而與會眾人更加珍惜因緣俱足能聽經聞法的難得機會。

 

On the afternoon of May 21, 2017, Association of Pure Buddhist held Dharma Lecture Seven of Sutra of the Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and invited our teacher Susan Duan to give speech. Coincidentally, the lecture and the annual Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students took place on the same date, many people were unable to attend the lecture because of accompanying their children who were examinees, so the attendants were grateful that they were able to attend the Dharma lecture and cherished the rare opportunity.

中華清淨學佛協會佛學講座於3月12日舉行,授法老師 段貞夙居士 慈悲為大眾開講《地藏菩薩本願經》第六講,深入經文義理,闡釋「釋迦牟尼佛與文殊菩薩以大智演法施教,為此經作證明;地藏菩薩功德威神不可思議,為眾生之福田,眾生一念清淨便獲無量福報,皆因菩薩因地發廣大慈悲願心,救度一切受苦眾生。」以此開展講述諸佛菩薩的智慧身教,具體實踐於生活中的修持方法,並以生動活潑的舉例,使大眾感悟驚歎,原來生活中所有起心動念處即是修行處,解脫樂或輪迴苦就在一念之間展開。

 

Association of Pure Buddhist held Dharma lecture on March 21.  Our teacher, Susan Duan, who gave speech of the sixth lecture of “Sutra of the Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva (the Sutra) interpreted the Sutra by starting from”how Sakyamuni Buddha and Manjusri Bodhisattva give Dharma teaching to prove the Sutra of the Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva by incredible wisdom.” And she explained ”why does Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva have so wonderful merits and magnificent virtues which enable sentient beings to accumulate immeasurable merits by showing respect to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva from the bottom of their hearts?  It is due to the great vow made by Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva in the boundless past lives to liberate continuously all sentient beings from all sufferings of Samsara.” Teacher Susan Duan also instructed how to transform Buddhas’ and Bodhisattvas’ teachings into practicable methods in daily life. Meanwhile, by illustrating with the lively examples, the attendants’ hearts were all vibrated and exclaimed in wonderment that every mind in our daily life is the moment to practice and to plant the seed of attaining the happiness of liberty or leaving the sufferings of Samsara.

感恩三寶,感恩授法老師段貞夙居士慈悲為與會大眾講授《地藏經》,106年1月8日中華清淨學佛協會舉辦佛學講座:淺釋《地藏經》第五講圓滿順利,大眾皆法喜充滿,滿載而歸!隨喜與會大眾於新年一始精進聞法,參與踴躍,同種善因!

 

本次講座,老師承接前一講講述的修證成佛的菩薩行─六度波羅蜜中的「持戒」、「忍辱」、「精進」,繼續為我們講解「禪定」、「般若」。老師首先以「為甚麼要定?」破題,引發大眾思惟,並以「沒有定,生不出智慧」作答,隨即再以「為甚麼定才能生智慧?」鼓勵大眾反覆提問辯證,讓自己真心信解。老師以「不靜的心猶如搖晃中的水杯,看不清混濁水中的內容物」比喻,當我們的心不定,便看不清事情紛紛擾擾背後的真相是:源於我們內心的渴望與恐懼。老師加以闡述,無定不生智慧,欲望多則定不下來,但沒有智慧也無法少欲,並舉生活中的例子生動說明「智慧」與「聰明」的區別,破除社會普遍迷信「聰明」的知見,進而傳授擁有智慧、解脫煩惱的方法。

105年1112日「清淨教室」學佛團體舉辦佛學講座:淺釋《地藏經》第四講,感恩三寶加持,順利圓滿。本次講座,感謝授法老師段貞夙居士,依著經文內容,接續前一講,講解修證成佛的菩薩行---六度波羅蜜中的”布施”波羅蜜,本講繼續為大家講述”持戒”、”忍辱”與”精進”的真義,以及如何運用在實際生活上。為了避免大眾可能誤以為修行、持戒,是很嚴肅的、無法放鬆而起了煩惱抗拒,老師應機舉了許多生活中,大家常會遇到的事情為例,讓大家明白如何運用。老師譬喻”戒”就像我們走在山崖險路邊時,能保護我們安全的欄杆!”持戒”的目的是幫助我們在生活中,防非止惡,不再為自己製造麻煩或障礙。老師更進一步闡釋五戒的意義與做法,幫助我們將佛法落實於日常生活。

 

同時,老師也強調”忍辱”不是表面地只忍住不說,而是判斷時機因緣,在出自善的動機下,真誠表達,讓對方知曉,並藉此啟發我們平時多去思惟並觀察自己的心,看清自己平時的煩惱從何而來,才能從心上修正。

105年9月24日「清淨教室」學佛團體舉辦佛學講座:淺釋《地藏經》第三講。感恩三寶加持,順利圓滿。感謝授法老師段貞夙居士,為了應與會大眾,幾乎都是初學者,特別在講座前,長時深思琢磨地準備講授內容,以求拿捏所授之內容,深淺廣狹,能讓與會大眾獲益最大。

 

本次講座,老師應著第一品的經文內容,特別從華嚴義,開示”究竟什麼是佛?”為我們由淺到深、層層推演開解”為何眾生與佛無二無別”,讓我們對於學佛,生起堅定的心。老師細細地闡述了隱在佛經表相文辭背後的義理,讓我們能正確地認識佛法的林相大觀,而不只著落於文字所描述的事相,而流於狹隘地只見樹不見林。再者,老師更進一步將佛經的事理,連結到我們日常的生活中,啟發我們一些思考方向去觀照、運用。如此,破除了我們一般初學佛者常有的謬見,避免了我們走偏,能走上正確的修行之路。

105年7月10日「清淨教室」學佛團體舉辦的佛學講座:淺釋《地藏經》第二講,感恩三寶加持,順利圓滿。感謝授法老師段貞夙居士,以深入淺出的方式開演《地藏經》,本次,老師特別藉由講述五濁惡世,比喻佛法其實是我們來到這個世界旅行必備的地圖,外境一切現相都是人心內境的顯現。將佛法看似理論的名相,透過了解,與自己的日常生活有所結合,進而知道如何修行。在場大眾都受益良多。

 

「佛法無人說,雖慧莫能了」。本次講座,有將近二十位成員的親友參加,不少人是第一次參加這樣的學習。表示說,才發現看似平凡的文字,原來其背後,蘊含深意。

5月15日《地藏經》第一講,感恩三寶加持,順利圓滿。感謝老師以深入淺出的方式,以華嚴理事無礙的觀點開演《地藏經》,在場大眾都受益良多。

”佛法無人說,雖慧莫能了”,才發現看似平凡的文字,原來其背後,蘊含深意。

大眾都期盼七月初的《地藏經》第二講快點到來!
