見聞即得光明照耀─1081116佛學講座：淺釋《地藏菩薩本願經》第十八講講座報導All Can Be Illuminated by Light as long as Seeing and Hearing---Dharma Lecture Eighteen of “Sutra of the Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva” on November 16, 2019 @ 中華清淨學佛協會

本次講座來到〈地神護法品第十一〉及〈見聞利益品第十二〉。

因為此兩品多講事，老師便特別闡述了事中之理，令我們從理上明白，才能運用在生活中千變萬化的事相上。例如所謂的護法，看似在護衛我們，其實他護的是「法」，我們如法、依照佛所教授的方法去做、去生活，護法自然也就會護衛我們在生活、學法、修行的路上，多遇善緣。

In this lecture, our Teacher Susan Duan, continued to teach the “Chapter 11: The Dharma Protection of the Earth Spirit” and the “Chapter 12: The Benefits from Seeing and Hearing”. Because what the two chapters illustrated the Dharma more by things, the Teacher elaborated on the rationale behind the things so that we could understand the Dharma rationally and apply it to the ever-changing things in life. For example, the so-called Guardians of the Buddhist Dharma seem to guard us; in fact, what they guard is the "Dharma", if we practice and live with the Dharma taught by the Buddha, the Guardian of the Dharma will naturally guard us to come across many good conditions in the path of life, learning the Dharma, and cultivating the minds.

在這次講述的經文裡，特別提到地藏菩薩和觀世音菩薩與我們娑婆世界眾生有大因緣，這也代表我們在學佛的道路上，常持兩位大菩薩的名號、瞻禮兩位大菩薩的形象，必得加持助益，畢竟我們眾生有太多不明之處，在在都需要真正的善知識指導點化，因為佛法無人說，雖慧莫能了，所以老師鼓勵我們能培養定課，長年穩定一心持念兩大菩薩名號，以得到提攜接引。

The scripture the Teacher taught in this lecture specifically mentioned that the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and the Guanyin Bodhisattva have great cause and condition with us the Saha universe beings. This also means that on the path of learning the Dharma, as long as we often recite the holy names and make obeisance to these two great Bodhisattvas, we must be blessed and benefited. After all, “without a teacher, even the wise cannot understand the Dharma”, because we sentient beings have too many unknowns, we need the virtuous teachers to guide and teach us in every perspective. The Teacher therefore encouraged us to cultivate regularly daily recitations of wholeheartedly reciting the holy names of these two great Bodhisattvas stably in a long term of years in order to get the guidance.

見聞即得利益，既是大菩薩的慈悲願力、方便善巧，更是我們此生難得的福報（例如《地藏經》第十二品云：佛告觀世音菩薩，⋯乃至六道罪苦眾生，聞汝名者，見汝形者，⋯是諸眾生於無上道必不退轉，常生人天，具受妙樂，因果將熟，遇佛授記。）因此我們實在應該心生珍重，老實照做。

As long as we see and hear the great Bodhisattvas’ image and names, we will get benefits, it is the great Bodhisattvas’ compassionate willingness, convenience and skillfulness, and it is even more our precious blessing in this lifetime (for instance, the Chapter 12 of the 《Sutra of the Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva》said, The Buddha told the Guanyin Bodhisattva,...any wrongdoing suffering beings in the six realms hear your name, see your image,…these beings definitely will not fall back or turn away from the Unsurpassed Way. They will ever be reborn as humans or devas and experience excellent, wonderful happiness. When the effects of their causes come to maturity, they will meet Buddhas and be given prediction) Therefore, we should really cherish the blessing and do what the Bodhisattvas taught us honestly.

Thank the Teacher very much for teaching us the Dharma and correcting our views through things and rationale in the lecture. The Teacher taught us that "Cherish every time we make a vow because every idea generated in our minds truly exists in the universe. Don't be afraid to make vows, even if we cannot achieve it in this life, we can still continue to make efforts in next life…." "Every step we take in the path of the study of life or the minds cultivating will definitely become the base for our further steps". What the Teacher taught made me really touched, and I suddenly felt that my heart was illuminated by the light. I hope that I can walk on the path of cultivating the minds purely and honestly and enjoy learning, as the Teacher taught us: "Practice oneself and contribute ability happily."
