In this Dharma Assembly during the Tomb-Sweeping Festival, the Teacher, Susan Duan, led everyone to chant the “The Amitabha Sutra” with respect and gratitude and dedicated the merits to all beings all over the world who died or suffered from the COVID-19 epidemic, the compatriots who died or were injured in the Taroko train derailment accident, as well as the attendants’ ancestors, deceased relatives and friends.
After the Assembly, the Teacher taught us according to our situations——
1. Realize the present causes and conditions,
2. Accept rather than resist causes and conditions,
3. And respond to causes and conditions with the right view of the Dharma.
Only in this way can we truly make our hearts calm down and achieve a state of positive development in our relationship with people and things.
We were deeply grateful to the Teacher for giving us guidance, so that our hearts which were originally ups and downs with the changes in the external environment in our daily life became calm and settle down. We will keep what the Teacher taught us in mind—— keeping aware of the present situation when dealing with things and getting along with others instead of chaotically following our habits and creating more troubles. We happily took what we learned to end this period of vacation and engage in life again.
